k3b 0.11.4 missing dependencies

k3b seem to need libsamplerate and it is not included in the dependencies.

In addiction is not recorgnizing anymore mp3 format when doing an audio cd.

I get the libsamplerate error when trying to load k3b, and it won't come up at all. Just tries to load then dissapears.

k3b: error while loading shared libraries: libsamplerate.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

i updated this pkg and changed this, now it should work

-> reinstall it from the internet:

rm /var/cache/pacman/pkg/k3b-0.11.5-1.pkg.tar.gz

then

pacman -S k3b

// the k3b 0.11.5 came out and need now libsamplerate as dependency, you can also only

pacman -S libsamplerate

what will also solve the problem

hmm i'm still only seeing k3b-0.11.4 -1 not 0.11.5-1.

i installed libsamplerate and now 0.11.4-1 boots up fine. Thanks

do you use a mirror in /etc/pacman.conf ?

if so, then you will either wait maximal a day (because the mirrors have to be updated every X hours) ... or change /etc/pacman.conf back to main page for this update

0.11.5 came out yesterday

I didn't checked it yet but also mp3 problem is solved??
I had already tried the pakage yesterday by installing the missing deps and k3b was starting but tring doing an udio cd it was complaing about mp3 as not recongnized file format :cry:

what is a "udio"-cd? you mean audio cd?

Yes, I tested it and it still complain. I tried to downgrade to 0.11.1 it work.

k3b is burning a normal audio cd from ogg and mp3 files without problems

can you be more specific with the errors? (run k3b from console and when the error comes, copy/paste it to this form)

k3b 0.11.5 is compiled against the stable cdrtools, not the cdrtools-devel

i tried now with cdrtools and cdrtools-devel and both work for me (mp3, ogg and flac)

by the way: i included "normalize" as dependency (it's optional, but it is really small and always a good thing having while acting with anything that pipes sound ) and recompiled it

try 0.11.5-2

kernel24 2.4.25-1
cdrtools 2.00.3-1
k3b 0.11.5-2

The output refer only to two mp3 file because I used only 2 this time but is the same with all of them.

The error is the following:

I wanted to do a test also with kernel26 2.6.3-1 but it strangely does not create /dev/cdroms, I have to see what happen during boot. By the way do you have any suggestion about that??

As I told you if I downgrade to k3b 0.11.1-1 (god save pacman cache ) it works fine. Since 0.11.4 it does not handle mp3.

when i remove "lame" (pacman -Rd lame)

you have "lame" installed?

As I told you the strange think is that when I downgrade to 0.11-1 everything work but with the latest it give problem

there should be:

AudioDecoder:
FLAC, MAD, Ogg, Wave

AudioEncoder:
External, Ogg, Sox

do you miss some of them?

(in the console there should be something like this:

finally i found a solution -> added some more dependences ('libmad' 'id3lib' 'libid3tag' --- seems they were not needed with 0.11.1 but for >0.11.4)

upgrade will be on the server in about a hour

Thanks to you spending all this time trying to help me.

I took a look to the plugins and under 0.11.5 I have:
AudioDecoder: Ogg, Wave
AudioEncoder: External, Ogg, Sox

I didn't have sox so just to try I installed it and now it is automatically in the list.

And now the funny part. I downgraded again to 0.11.1 and under plugins I have:
AudioDecoder: FLAC, MAD, ogg, Wave
AudioEncoder: External, Ogg, Sox

At this point I guess is something in path were 0.11.5 search for files.
Do you have any Idea how to set search path for the plugins??
I tried to look but I found only for bin

try 0.11.5-3 ... it contains some more dependences that are actually optional (not linked against anythning in k3b) but you need them to use these plugins
