x201 only booting in 32-bit mode, just reboots in 64-bit mode

So, I'm trying to install from archlinux-2016.01.01-dual.iso from a USB stick.
Booting works fine in 32-bit mode as far as I can tell but; however, booting 64-bit reboots the computer after unpacking the kernel and something about "EDD" (it's too fast to read but doesn't look like an error.) I thought it might be KMS but it works fine in 32-bit mode, so that doesn't make a lot of sense. I've tried booting with nomodeset and i916.nomodeset=0 and neither works.

I tested with Ubuntu and CentOS and basically the same thing happened: reboot after about a second, without anything to read (unlike arch, which displays the loading of the kernel.)

BIOS is 1.15. Core i5 M540

Where do I go from here?
