For some reason it just stops playing. It can happen even if I haven't touched the computer for a while. If I hit pause and the play it keeps playing without problems though. Any ideas?

I've noticed a lot of strange behaviour with XMMS, especially with large (> 10000 songs) playlists and long uptimes. I bet there are some basic design errors in it. Consider switching to BMP or XMMS 2 (the project has a different name as it's a complete rewrite of XMMS).

Well I have a pretty small playlist (1000+) and usually reboot my laptop at least once every three days. I'll look into xmms 2 and bmp.
