Folder sharing Virt-Manager with Windows 10 as guest using Samba

Hi. I am trying to find a way to share a folder with my Arch Linux host and my Windows 10 guest using Samba (or any other method). After following the Arch Wiki and setting up Samba, I tried to ping into the Samba folder via running "\\10.0.2.2" as suggested by this guide http://www.linux-kvm.com/content/tip-ho … sing-samba , but Windows is unable to find the ip address. The guide I found is outdated - 2008, is there a more up to date guide and has the default ip address of Samba in KVM changed? Thanks.

Moving to "Newbie Corner".

Have you tried this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/QE … SMB_server

Re: Folder sharing Virt-Manager with Windows 10 as guest using Samba

I appreciate the link but after reading the man, link, and stackoverflow etc.. still no answer. If not setting up a nic with '-net' and just '-net user,...' how to get a smb server on subnet? I'm using virt-manager to create a virtual network and have edited the vm xml with
```
<qemu:commandline>
    <qemu:arg value='-net'/>
   <qemu:arg value='user,net=..,smbserver=...,smb=/home/me/share'/>
</qemu:commandline>
```

Is there a better way to share with a guest using virtsh?

I've used 9p and seems buggy.

cheers,
