Selectively disabling NVIDIA audio device

Symptom: After installing new NVIDIA GPU and nvidia driver, TeamSpeak3 freezes on connect as it attempts to resolve the audio device.

I have installed an NVIDIA card with an included audio device:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK110B [GeForce GTX TITAN Black] (rev a1)
01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GK110 HDMI Audio (rev a1)

My machine also has integrated audio.

00:03.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller (rev 06)

I have notices that blacklisting the kernel module

snd-hda-intel

allows TS3 to work, but as a result I have no audio output whatsoever.

Without blacklisting the kernel module, I get the following boot error.

snd_hda_intel 0000:00:03.0: failed to add i915 component master (-19)

Other things I have tried: updating my CPU's microcode; removing Wayland.

Is there a way I can get applications to use my integrated audio device while being blind to my NVIDIA audio device?

Thank you.

Re: Selectively disabling NVIDIA audio device

Have you tried disabling the Intel graphics card in your bios ?

found this info on https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/c … _not_work/ which is probably not related but it could be usefull
