["Solved"] Intel HD4000 Ivybridge + linux-4.4.1-2 = No HDMI3 output

When booting, KMS usually detects and activates all three monitors: HDMI1, HDMI3, and VGA1. I login at tty2, issue "startx" and X11 also uses all three monitors.

With linux-4.4.1-2, though, HDMI3 is missing right from the start. KMS doesn't activate the monitor. I couldn't find any error messages in systemd's journal or ~/.local/share/xorg, everything looks fine.

For now, I've downgraded to linux-4.3.3-3.

I'm almost certain that I saw a similar bug report in my feed reader this morning (Flyspray or this forum). But I just can't find it anymore. Any hints are highly appreciated. So, this thread isn't meant to be a bug report but rather a call for help in finding that other existing bug report. smile

Thanks!

- edit (2016-04-16): I've been able to ignore the problem by using linux-lts -- until now. Now, linux-4.5.0 has arrived (which I'm using right now) and linux-lts has been bumped to 4.4.7. Both initially showed the same problem.

In the meantime, there were these two threads:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p1612866
https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/2/24/86

Maybe, using "video=HDMI-A-3:e" as kernel parameter can help. However, I no longer have the problem: I exchanged my HDMI-to-DVI cable, tested another monitor, nothing helped, but then I re-built the original setup -- and the problem was gone. Either my original cable wasn't plugged in properly in the first place, or the problem is intermittent and I'll soon start seeing it again.

Meh.

- edit (2016-05-07): Still works. Well.
