Corsair K90 Keyboard: volume up not working or caught by xev/xbindkeys

Hello,

I have a Corsair K90. All my multimedia keys work fine except for volume up. xev doesn't recognize it, xbindkeys doesn't recognize it. I tried booting to a minimal twm+xterm X session, because I thought maybe some program was interfering, but I still get the same problem.

I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

How do you know the key isn't broken?

Hopefully you're still reading this. I have the exact same issue! I too thought the key had just died, and so I ended up binding its action to another key and gave up.

However, it just now occurred to me that the recent linux kernel I installed included a brand new driver for the corsair k90!!!

I did some testing and it seems that volume up doesn't have a scancode, yet somehow it does have a keycode of 721 (according to showkey).

Any ideas on how to procede?

Thanks for the reply and the bug report ceri! I will see if I can get around to testing that patch out today. If I do, I'll write a comment on the Github issue.

The author of the driver has fixed this issue. Thanks again ceri.

No worries. Did you have to compile a whole new kernel to fix the issue, or is it possible to just remake the keyboard driver?

Edit: nevermind, ended up making a PKGBUILD to add it as an updated module in "/usr/lib/modules/`uname -r`/updates"
