I'm going away to university next year and have spent a considerable amount of time looking at laptops. However, recently, I started wondering about tablet pcs such as the new Toshiba Portege M400 Series http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cmod.to?coid=-30603
While this looks excellent and all, I immediately began to wonder how they work with Linux.
I know that people do run Tablet PCs in other flavors of linux, and a quick search makes it obvious that some of you run them in Arch, I was hoping to consolidate and make a nice Tablet PC thread here.
I'd be nice to hear what everybody is running hardware wise, the usability as well as how the software side of tablets looks for Linux. Very competitive with Windows I hope?
Also thoughts on why not to get a tablet over a laptop is welcome (for the sake of argument, assume price is not an issue).
