Various Unity games don't launch (The Long Dark, SatelliteReign, etc)

So I've had some issues with Unity games for a bit, and generally speaking it's been kind of hard to peg down.

Current config:

Arch Linux
Nvidia GTX 770
352.63 drivers

When I try and launch Satellite Reign from Steam (while running Steam from the console) I get the following:

Game update: AppID 268870 "Satellite Reign", ProcID 5718, IP 0.0.0.0:0
ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/snowblind/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.

The ERRORS about ld.so on there I don't believe are cause for concern as I get those on other games as well (though please correct me if I'm wrong).

In this case I click play, I get the little dialog that it's launching the game, then that dialog goes away and nothing happens.

The same thing happens with The Long Dark:

I've attempted this both with the normal Steam runtime, as well as preloading system libraries instead (as outlined in the Steam wiki) and I get the same results both times.

The strange thing is that this doesn't happen on ALL Unity games. City Skylines seems to work fine; so does Firewatch and Starward Rogue.

EDIT: I should also point out that if I start up one of the games (such as The Long Dark) immediately after restarting X, it works fine. But if I restart X and then wait a bit, they'll just arbitrarily not work.

Does anyone have any insight into this, as to why this would happen? I've talked to some people on more LTS distros (ubuntu, mint, Debian) and they don't seem to have this issue and the games launch fine. I don't *think* it's a driver issue, as the same thing happened on 361.18 as well (but if I 'm wrong on that please let me know, I haven't tried many different driver versions.) (I had gone back to 352.63 from the AUR after the issues that people experienced with 361.28.)

Thanks!

EDIT: I guess this issue isn't unique to Arch: http://steamcommunity.com/app/305620/di … 983388163/

I don't see the logs reported that the other guys do in that thread, though.
