Touchpad recently stopped working [SOLVED]

The cursor shows up in libinput

Device:           DLL06FE:00 04F3:300F Touchpad
Kernel:           /dev/input/event8
Group:            9
Seat:             seat0, default
Size:             103.42x62.55mm
Capabilities:     pointer
Tap-to-click:     disabled
Tap drag lock:    disabled
Left-handed:      disabled
Nat.scrolling:    disabled
Middle emulation: n/a
Calibration:      n/a
Scroll methods:   *two-finger edge
Click methods:    *button-areas clickfinger
Disable-w-typing: enabled
Accel profiles:   none

I have looked over other similar issues in the archlinux form, but most of their solutions were related to a disabled touchpad. I am sure that my touchpad is enabled as can be seen above, but the cursor does not move.
This issue recently manifested after a system update two days ago.

Re: Touchpad recently stopped working [SOLVED]

Welcome to Arch Linux.

Can you find you Xorg log file and post it (using BBCode code tags).
Depending on how you start X, it will be in /var/log/Xorg.0.log, ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log, or could just be in the journal.

Then, let's see if it is working.  When you posted the above, it was at /dev/input/event8.  Assuming it is still there (you have not rebooted) try
%sudo od -x /dev/input/event8
Then touch the touchpad and see if it spews forth a bunch of hexadecimal data as you move your finger.

Re: Touchpad recently stopped working [SOLVED]

Here are the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Also, no data is displayed when listening for input from the touchpad.
By the way, regarding the desktop environment, I am using gnome.
