Ok I think I "fixed" it. I have no idea why it broke down but now it works again well.
I updated to 1.2.3 BIOS (I had the 1.0.something I recall). Now suspending is much faster.
Works well for me using 4.5.0-rc4
Anybody fixed the touchscreen after suspend issue? Thanks a lot guys for all your help BTW!

@zetxx Yeah I think they offer more options only for USA.
As we seems to have the same config, do you experience the same problem with TTY (>= 2) I have shown 5 posts ago ?@davidgf Are you talking about Wifi or Bluetooth ? The firmware blob is needed for Bluetooth, not Wifi.
EDIT: I've found how to repair my TTYx, by forcing to respawn the getty
systemctl stop getty@ttyx.service
Don't know still why there are fucked up at boot...
nope, clean tty for now

The new 9350 I got after RMA, has an i7-6560U, instead of an i7-6500U proccessor. Reading about the differences I was excited about that: the 6560U has the better Intel Iris 540 as GPU instead of the Intel HD 520.
But.. after wiping windows and installing Arch I'm experiencing a lot of crashes/freezes. journalctl gives me a lot of:

Looks like a similar bug has been reported on bugs.freedesktop.org as it is related to intel iris 540.
A workaround is to add i915.enable_rc6=0 to the kernel boot parameters.
Please try this and give a feedback.

I can confirm that setting i915.enable_rc6=0 also prevents the GPU hangs. I prefer to disable DRI instead of this, as this gives me the better discharge rate. Thanks for replying!

It works well for me so far... I'm not using Arch but Fedora. No idea about the libinput/synaptic sorry. My kernel is 4.5.0-0.rc4.git1.2.fc24.x86_64 (some random commit @ kernel trunk after RC4 I guess).

Has anyone experimented with multiple external displays through the thunderbolt one? I wonder if a displayport mst hub would be happy with a usb-c to displayport cable. I haven't heard anything about the new thunderbolt docks, either.

Hi, guys!
I'm using an external monitor using a USB-C to hdmi adapter. The monitor is also rotated 90 degrees using xrandr, with something like this:
xrandr --output eDP1 -o right --auto --pos 0x0 --scale 1x1 --output DP1 --auto -o right --scale 2.3x2.3 --pos 3200x0
The problem is that now sometimes I'm getting some random xorg segfaults, did anyone get something similar?

The only writing on the wall was that on every other reboot everything was very slow (navigating bios, bootloading, DE, etc).
Just upgraded to BIOS v1.2.3 + 4.5-rc2 but had successful boots since.
Dell: in 3-4 weeks you'll hear about the swap.
Did you have to RMA? If yes, when you get your xps back, double check all components. They swapped my nvme for a sata

Thanks for the heads-up! The only component that is different in the setup was i7-6560U (with Intel Iris 540) instead of i7-6500U. See: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1606341

The developer edition is out
http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/xps-1 … s=bsd&fl=p http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter … 5#20890585. Hopefully we will see some drivers and tweaks to make it all work smooth from now on. It seems it kept the PCIe storage and went up to the Iris graphics. So I guess Dell is also gonna bring fixes for those.

oh and lvds downclock and friends => black screen when X starts (unless DRI is off) so none of these goodies for now.

According to this post - http://bartongeorge.net/2016/03/10/xps- … worldwide/
Ubuntu 16.04 will ship next month and the system image will be available at some point. So I'm guessing we will have to wait a bit more.

Yes, I did, because of "enable_psr=1" i915 parameter, removed it and looks ok now, but with it turned on system has about 1W less power consumption.

Is anyone on the mainline 4.5 kernel also using chrome? I tried switching to the mainline 4.5.0 build yesterday but found massive lags with chrome. Terminal/emacs and all seemed fine, but chrome would have like 10 second delays with input, work for a few seconds, then freeze again. I had to switch back.
However, on 4.4.x I recently started experiencing crashes. Have 4.4.5-1 now, BIOS 1.2.3, i7-6500U. Have DRI enabled (switching it off caused weird rendering issues), boot args include "pcie_aspm=force i915.enable_rc6=0". Crashes started about 2 weeks ago, which was around when I upgraded from the 1.0.0 BIOS, so I am pondering downgrading the BIOS.
Often 2-3 times a day, system will just freeze and be non-responsive, including remote pings. It is getting annoying though since twice in the past week it has been when doing a series of git commands and ended up corrupting my local repo. Getting paranoid now.

I saw that post, but I never had "enable_psr" set.
Today, I tried upgrading to the official 4.5-1 in testing, and Chrome was better, but still laggy. Just not quite as much. I'd notice lags in other apps, just it was very prevalent with Chrome. I still had a full system freeze where I had to power off too.
I'm not sure if it is the BIOS or the kernel... can't downgrade the bios at all. May try and rollback the kernel a few weeks. Or try the intel drm nightly from aur.
So far doesn't look like memory. I had memtest86 running last night for 4 passes and had 0 errors. Will have it run overnight tonight too.
