hey folks
I didnt find any thread about it here, but rather over at the gentoo-forums (link; I observe the very same as mentioned there (also look at the screenshot there or here, if it is unclear what it is about, its difficult to describe).
Are there others having the same issue? Where should I be looking at in order to find the problem? Should I file a bug report on gnomes bugzilla without knowing where the actual error is happening?
my best
hintze
PS: I am on gnome 3.18.2 (arch package gnome-shell 3.18.3-3)

Do you use an intel graphic card? I have seen a lot of reports to somewhat similar problems with intel card (Google for "broken fonts" or "missing fonts"); see also this post. It is most probably a bug in the driver of the card. Sometimes putting "magic options" in xorg.conf might help (try different accelmethod for example).

Hello hintze,
look here here …
yup, removing the DE iso locales from /etc/locale.gen, running locale-gen, and logging off and in again solved this issue. thank you very much. didnt mind googling in german.. my fault.
what I dont understand is why they say that this bug is resolved in the bugreport you linked but I still had this problem.. I probably just updated yesterday and didnt log off and in again, so I thaught that the problem still exists.. dont know. no matter what, topic solved. thanks ![]()
