[SOLVED] Blu-ray Playback (extreme stuttering)

I have a media centre with a bluray drive. I've been testing two blurays on it;

[Movie : Terminal Output]
Star Trek (2009) : http://pastebin.com/PT9WF8EU
Stargate Continuum (2008) :  http://pastebin.com/WrJ36HqV (Definitely uses both aacs and bd+)

I've tried with both VLC(with libbluray-git) and mplayer. Both set to use VDPAU for hw accelerated decoding.

Both will begin to play. Star Trek will playback perfectly.
Stargate Continuum pretty much from the title stutters catastrophically. The disc looks fine, it's not faded and there are no visible scratches.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could scan over my terminal output to tell me what is wrong.

System Information if relavant:
{
Processor: i5 4460
Memory: 8gb (1600 MHz)
GPU: nVidia GTX 650 ti (nvidia, nvidia-utils)
BluRay Drive: LG BH14NS40 (libaacs, libbluray)
Disks: 120GB SSD, 1tb HDD.
PSU: 750W, Corsair CX series

Arch+bspwm
libbluray, libaacs, libbdplus
./config/aacs exists
./config/bdplus/vm0 exists
mplayer.
}

Re: [SOLVED] Blu-ray Playback (extreme stuttering)

Have you tried: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/makemkv-libaacs ?

I've had good success with it with the exception of some True HD audio (but that seems to be a limitation of VLC, not the package).

@headkase

I think makemkv will be my next stop if I can't get it to just play from the disc properly. My position is I shouldn't have to rip something in order to have it work.

Edit:

Time to hang my head in shame there. All I knew of makemkv is that there is a program called that which allows you to rip content. I installed it, it conflicted with libbluray and libbdplus. It installed its own version of those two packages and now both movies playback flawlessly in mplayer.

Thank you.

Yes, the libaacs makemkv library is great, no need to rip with it just direct playback.  wink  smile  You're welcome.
