LibreOffice 5 in Plasma 5

So the LibreOffice5 update was recent. Just curious if anyone else is having it look like absolute bollocks in Plasma 5. All the Google results on this topic are from the 4.x series.

There is no default Persona theme (or the option just doesn't work). The dialog for installing themes is just completely broken, it used to be where you put in a Firefox Theme link and it downloaded that, now they apparently want to integrate browsing into LO but it doesn't work at all, no logging output on it either. If I force the kde4 theme:

OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP="kde4"

It just uses the old Oxygen icon set. Even still, its not using Breeze-dark icons like its supposed to, its using Breeze stock. It might work better under stock Breeze, but under Breeze Dark it is incredibly broken.

I'll just downgrade to still or 4.4.5 fresh if its not an easy fix, I'm just wondering if anyone else has a resolution to how badly LO5 broke the UI on KDE. I was going to try just manually stuffing a Firefox theme in it somewhere, but the themes website doesn't have an easy way to just download theme files and I'm not that invested in using 5.0 right now to try to dig through several pages of Google Fu to find out if theres a way to just download a bloody zip.

Yes, new "theme" for kde4 in LO5 is awful smile Try to use gtk (I prefer it):

SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk lowriter

If it helps, edit file:

# nano /etc/profile.d/libreoffice-fresh.sh

and remove "#" before:

export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk

After reboot, the new theme works, and LO5 looks better (of course not perfect).

@ChemBro - It's only the name of the "theme". Just take a look at: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LibreOffice#Theme

Re: LibreOffice 5 in Plasma 5

But this is about the Breeze-dark icon theme, which is a KDE5 icon theme. The KDE4 icon theme (Oxygen) "works", the KDE5 one not.

Ok, I've forgot about something. In LO we have built-in Breeze icon set, but if I remember well, only "light" version. Breeze-dark icon set for LO is there: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libr … eze-icons/

Re: LibreOffice 5 in Plasma 5

Excellent! Now I just need to figure out how to get themes work to get that ugly default black and white gradient bar out of there. Preferably just native background colors from my theme, but that might be asking for too much these days...

Re: LibreOffice 5 in Plasma 5

Does you mean about this gradient on menu? Take a look at my screenshot: http://imgur.com/n5LOE4G.
My preferences:
- color (my composition),
- LO start with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk as I write there in #2,
- sfir icons.
Of course you (I think that you are using Breeze Dark Look&Feel), you should use SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk and icons from post #6.

Re: LibreOffice 5 in Plasma 5

I know this is an old(ish) thread but this is only a partial fix, while it does remove the ugly gradients, it makes libreoffice use GTK open/save dialogs, the KDE ones are so much nicer!
