Equalizer apps - any exist?

I can't find anything on this, so i doubt it exists. What I am really after is a text mode EQ for alsa sound. Imagine alsamixer but an EQ not just volume. Does anyone know of anything like that?

An Equalizer not just for volume? Alsamixer offers volume, bass, treble, record source, mute ... what else are you thinking off?

This kind of thing:

Usually media players have them but i have always wanted one that controls the whole of alsa output. That way i can chuck up the bass when i play games etc.

Also, i believe that what shows up in alsamixer varies depending on what soundcard you have, for example i have no bass or treble controls. In fact the only thing that makes any difference in alsamixer is the PCM slider, the rest are useless for me and are named really strange things.
