My audio CD's are popping up on the desktop automatically, which is nice however, I can not browse them, open sound juicer or play them in the cd player, I get:
Sound juicer could not access the CD-ROM device 'dev/hdc'
Reason: Permission Denied
and
CD Player gives me drive error and do not have permission to access this drive.
Normal data cds and dvds I can access and read as per normal. I also get two icons for dvds and cds unless they are audio discs then I only get a single icon. I think this may be from too many deamons running.
Any ideas?

You should be in the optical group to gain raw read privileges on optical devices like CD drives.
