Trying to live boot for first time, but asked for login credentials.

I have created a live CD straight from downloading the ISO, and am being asked for login credentials.
I haven't set any as I have not gained access to the Operating System in order to do so, and I don't understand how I am supposed to know the login details.
Anyway, I started a live boot in VirtualBox to get a screenshot, and this is the readout I'm being confronted with:

Arch Linux 4.4.1-2-ARCH (tty1)

archiso login: root (automatic login)
root@archiso ~ #

I assumed at first that if I waited the "automatic login" would trigger, but this never happened.
Have I missed something?

I don't understand the question, autologin worked.  That's the command prompt.

You are logged in. # means you are logged in as root.

I thought so, I'm wondering why I can't get to the desktop environment?
As you might have gathered, I'm new to this.
