Big windows/fonts after nvidia kernel install

I installed arch last night and after I got to desktop I installed the latest nvidia drive. The terminal / firefox and others are as big as I would have 800x600 resolution ( my native resolution is 1600x900 ) . Text is normal in pages, but the date and the username displayed on the right of the date are very big. Same for the name of the programs that I open ( i.e. when I open terminal, the upside bar where it says terminal - zaza@arch: - are VERY big ). I managed to lower those from the settings but the windows are still too big. I am sorry if this is a duplicate post or something, but I tried other posts from the forums and I haven't managed to make it work. That's why I made another post.

My monitor is 1600x900, NVIDIA does ( for idk what reason ) say i can put 1920x1080 but icons go "outside" the monitor.

EDIT: I did 1600x900 instead of 1920x1080 and screen flashed but nothing changed.

Re: Big windows/fonts after nvidia kernel install

Ok, just checking as it is listed as a valid mode.

What desktop environment are you using?  And in that, what is your DPI setting?

Re: Big windows/fonts after nvidia kernel install

Ok, I have faced a similar situation with XFCE.  I believe you are looking for "monitor.xml" (maybe "monitors.xml") or something similar within ~/.config

Rename that file so that XFCE will regenerate it on the next log in.

If that doesn't work (it's been a while, I'm not sure that is the file) then "mv .config .config.bak" to regenerate the works of your settings.  Of course you'll have to reconfigure everything that's why to try to find and rename monitor.xml first.

I solved the problem with this sudo nvidia-xconfig --no-use-edid-dpi

Thanks for your help.
