Thinkpad choppy cursor on 4.5.0

So, just upgraded to kernel 4.5 (linux-git), and my cursor is noticeably choppier than my old kernel (4.4.5). It feels like the cursor is only refreshing at like 15-20 FPS as opposed to, y'know, 60. I'm using a Thinkpad T450s and I have "options psmouse proto=imps" set in /etc/modprobe.d/imps.conf, so it shows up as "PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" under xinput.

Is this problem common at all, and/or are there any fixes? It's certainly usable, but pretty annoying.

Thanks!

Re: Thinkpad choppy cursor on 4.5.0

there was a similar problem when I updated kernel (4.5 and 4.6-rc2 have this problem), but occurs only when watching video through mpv player. Helps only disable desktop effects
Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.5.5 (Qt 5.5.1)
HW: Asus P8Z77-V Pro, Intel Core i5-3570K, Intel HD Graphics 4000
