trouble starting second xserver

I'm using nvidia propietary drivers, lightdm as login manager and i3 as window manager. I want to play some games in Steam from Big Picture mode, but unfortunately this has some problems with i3, so I would want to start steam in a separate xserver (or maybe start a whole more "canonical" DE in another server, and start steam from there).

However all methods I found don't work for a reason or another, and I know too little about how X works to understand what's wrong. The method suggested in the wiki, here, gives me this:

$ xinit /usr/bin/xonotic-glx -- :6 vt$XDG_VTNR

somewhere I also found this command suggested, which gives the same error:

pastebin of my ~/.xinitrc is here

as suggested somewhere I also created /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config with the single line "allowed_users=anybody" (I was getting an error before, something telling me I wasn't allowed as a user to start another server)

any ideas what I'm doing wrong??

Re: trouble starting second xserver

This works for me:

startx /usr/bin/xonotic-sdl

To autostart on login to TTY6, add this line to ~/.bash_profile (~/.zprofile for zsh):

[[ -z $DISPLAY && $XDG_VTNR -eq 6 ]] && exec startx /usr/bin/xonotic-sdl

Re: trouble starting second xserver

It's basically the same command I'm giving... I get the error no screens found. Looking at the log I posted I think these lines might be the culprit

[477079.278] (++) using VT number 7

[477079.278] (II) systemd-logind: logind integration requires -keeptty and -keeptty was not provided, disabling logind integration
[477079.278] (II) xfree86: Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card0)
[477079.279] (EE) /dev/dri/card0: failed to set DRM interface version 1.4: Permission denied
[477079.279] (--) PCI:*(0:2:0:0) 10de:11c2:1458:356d rev 161, Mem @ 0xf6000000/16777216, 0xe8000000/134217728, 0xf0000000/33554432, I/O @ 0x0000e000/128, BIOS @ 0x????????/524288
[477079.279] (WW) Open ACPI failed (/var/run/acpid.socket) (No such file or directory)

after that it seems it's trying to use nouveau and other fallback drivers, not sure why. Here's the output of "lspci -v" relative to my video card:
