Edit: Solution post #3
So recently I tried to use gnome-color-manager, as I have done before but basically it does not list any of my displays. It does work for printers however!
I am getting this in my .xsession-errors :
(cinnamon-settings-daemon:944): color-plugin-WARNING **: failed to create device: could not check org.freedesktop.color-manager.create-device for auth: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.NotAuthorized: Only trusted callers (e.g. uid 0 or an action owner) can use CheckAuthorization() for subjects belonging to other identitiesOddly, when I boot exactly the same PC from a USB stick, that is using exactly the same packages in exactly the same state (pacman -Syu'd at the same time), it works perfectly fine, without the error above.
I cannot find any differences in config, have tried re-installing colord, colord-gtk, etc etc. Tried removing /var/lib/colord and then re-installing colord to re-make it. Nothing works.
Any ideas? ![]()

Tried creating a new user with a fresh profile, same problem. Rules out the dotfiles/user profile....

Nailed it!
SOMETHING created this file:
/usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/org.freedesktop.color-manager.create-device.policy
pacman -Qo on this file confirmed it was un-owned
Removing this file fixed the problem.
NO idea how it got there.
