Hi,
disclaimer: I posted this issue yet under https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1618881, but I thought this could be worth an own thread since it is quite specific:
since the GTK and everything update, starting a GTK3-based program like termite throws the following error:
VTE needs to be recompiled against a newer gtk+ version.
(termite:8444): Vte-WARNING **: (vtegtk.cc:1718):int vte_terminal_match_add_gregex(VteTerminal*, GRegex*, GRegexMatchFlags): runtime check failed: (g_regex_get_compile_flags(gregex) & G_REGEX_MULTILINE)As all my vte-packages seem to be up to date, I wonder where this comes from…
local/vte-common 0.44.0-1
Common files used by vte and vte3
local/vte3-ng 0.44.0.a-2
Enhanced Virtual Terminal Emulator widget for use with GTK3Any ideas?

Does it work? This might be related to GTK2 dependent VTE packages.

Well, termite seems to work normally, although it can't be adressed in the gtk.css via "VteTerminal" or "vte-terminal"… Not sure if this is a stupid coincidence.
vte3-ng was last updated on 30. March (see https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … /vte3-ng/), nearly all this other relevant GTK3 stuff (gtk3, vte-common and so on) on 9. April – could this cause that error, since termite relies on vte3-ng?

try recompiling vte3-ng from ABS yourself and see if that fixes your issues. If it does open a bug report

Thank you, that seems to do the trick. Opened a bug report: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/48875

Did recompiling also fix your issue with gtk.css? or just remove the error message?
Offline
Oh sorry, just the error message, but that's imho definitely the more urgently thing to fix for the moment…

I'm sorry I have to correct my self: After rebooting, the gtk.css settings are applied again, so recompiling solves in fact both issues. ![]()
