Re: Making arch-wiki-docs useful

Made search much more intuitive.  Now multiple search terms are ORed together.  To prevent this, wrap your search in quotes.  Also bumped to follow arch-wiki-docs.

Re: Making arch-wiki-docs useful

I cannot update your package with pacman 4:

error: arch-wiki-lite: key "396E3E25BAB142C1" is unknown
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)

Do you have a valid gpg key?

You are said to not have a key yet at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … kager_Keys:

Name          Key      Identity verified?
Kyle Keen    None    No

But the page doesn't seem to be up to date.

Re: Making arch-wiki-docs useful

I downloaded the package and its signature manually.
And I ran in a console:

gpg --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --keyserver-options auto-key-retrieve --verify arch-wiki-lite-20111015-1-any.pkg.tar.xz.sig arch-wiki-lite-20111015-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
gpg: Signature made Sat Oct 15 15:46:06 2011 CEST using RSA key ID BAB142C1
gpg: requesting key BAB142C1 from hkp server keys.gnupg.net
gpgkeys: key 396E3E25BAB142C1 not found on keyserver
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0
gpg: Can't check signature: public key not found

So your key is not found in the hkp://keys.gnupg.net key server, why?
Where can I find it please?

I tried with:

http://subkeys.pgp.net
hkp://pgp.mit.edu

Your key is not found there either.

Re: Making arch-wiki-docs useful

Thanks keenerd, arch-wiki-lite seems very useful. What happened to it's inclusion in archiso?

A suggestion, it appears that using arch-wiki-lite and arch-wiki-docs downloads same wiki twice, ( ofcourse there is difference in both versions), and it may be difficult to use common database for both. However I(and many other users) mainly use html docs, and search them using wiki-search-html, making "arch-wiki.txt.gz" unnecessory download, vice versa there may be many other users using text docs only. So my suggestion here is to make "arch-wiki.txt.gz" as optional dependency like arch-wiki-docs so users can choose either of the text or html documents.

Re: Making arch-wiki-docs useful

New feature: "dialog" based ncurses menu for choosing search results!

Docbroke:  "wiki-search-html" uses still arch-wiki.txt.gz for the actual search, due to the difficulty of searching combined html markup and content.  People using text docs only do not need to install arch-wiki-docs at all, so they can indeed choose.  If you are using a +160MB web browser to view the wiki pages, then don't worry about the 16MB for the text index.

that seems valid point to keep arch-wiki.txt.gz.
I use w3m as my default browser, and only if some page fails to open I pipe page to qutebrowser.

Re: Making arch-wiki-docs useful

Nice work. Testing the new dialog box, I was wondering if it would be possible to have "--all" available for it, or otherwise improve matching. For example, wiki-search beginner gives me:

Select a wiki page: │

while I was looking for the Beginners' guide.
