Hey, there.
I have plugged a 40" TV via HDMI and Gnome has detected it as a 72" TV. When I set the native resolution of the TV, the image shows sliced in two pieces, part of the top image appears at the bottom and there're some inches at the right part of the screen with no image being displayed, only a purple line. Other's resolutions have a similar behaviour.
I'm using Gnome 3.20,1 and it also affect oldest versions of Gnome/Nvidia/Xorg/etc (It never worked),
❯ lspci | grep -i VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM204 [GeForce GTX 970] (rev a1).
❯ pacman -Q | grep nvidia
lib32-nvidia-libgl 361.28-4
lib32-nvidia-utils 361.28-4
nvidia-cg-toolkit 3.1-3
nvidia-dkms 361.28-4
nvidia-hook 2.3-1
nvidia-libgl 361.28-5
nvidia-settings 361.28-1
nvidia-utils 361.28-5
I'm also using a 24" monitor via DVI, everything is working as expected. Both screens are plugged at the same Video Card.
I have tested with others operating systems to check if everything is okay with my hardware, and the 40" TV worked as expected via HDMI at my desktop among my DVI monitor with the same VGA.
Please, let me know if I can update this post with logs and additional information.

The last nvidia update (364.16) has fixed the issue itself.
