[solved] usb0 equivalent not present

I have an old Nokia N900 which is so broken that the only filesystem access I have is via ssh. On my Linux Mint I simply connected it via usb and networkmanager discovered the connection.

Now I have Arch, NM installed too, but `ip link` doesn't show any equivalent of usb0 out there. Any idea why?

/edit: apparently the culprit was the kernel update, I was still running the old version. Reboot solved
