T440 Cannot Resume from Sleep to Ram

Greetings,

I recently acquired a T440 4300u Intel graphics only laptop and am having issues getting resume to sleep to work. I can sleep the computer fine but when I got to resume it via the Fn or power keys, nothing seems to happen. The screen remains powered off and the power key slowly blinks as if still in sleep. The only effect pressing either button has is, after a minute or so, the fan powers up. I have to do a hard reset in order to bring the system back up. Oddly enough, if I try to resume within a handful of minutes of suspending the system, it succeeds however if I wait for 20+ minutes it does not.

I have tried both the current kernel and the lts kernel to no avail. I have currently do not have pm-utils installed but I did try it with no success. I have no custom sleep or resume services defined for systemd.

I have tried the following kernel parameters:

 acpi_osi=Linux acpi_osi="!Windows" acpi_backlight=Vendor

I have investigated the journal after having to do a hard reset and there are no messages logged between the system successfully suspending and the reboot.

I have the bios setup to boot using Legacy BIOS only and I have the following settings configured in the BIOS:

Speed step: disabled
CPU power management: enabled
Intel rapid start: disabled
intel AMT: diabled
smart connect: disabled
TPM (& kernel modules): disabled
secure boot: disabled

I had similar issues with my t440p: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=198902.  They just went away with updates, never found what 'fixed' it.

Thanks for the response! After having no luck after debugging for over the course of a week, I'm hoping some future update will also solve my issue. Thankfully the SSD I have installed makes for quick startups/shutdowns.
