[SOLVED] [libinput] [xorg] Touchpad not working after update

Hello people. I recently (10 mins ago) updated my system via pacman -Syu.

After rebooting, gdm worked fine (runs on wayland) but when I logged in my GNOME session (xorg) the touchpad wasn't working (the mouse works).

The touchpad doesn't work in GNOME xorg nor openbox, but it works fine in GNOME wayland.

I am using xf86-input-libinput instead of evdev/synaptics (which I removed after updating to gnome 3.20 1-2 weeks ago).

If I install evdev and synaptics again, the touchpad works, it seems that instead of defaulting to libinput, now xorg defaults to evdev/synaptics.

But with evdev/synaptics installed or not, I don't see anything useful in the mouse settings in GNOME control center (here's a screenshot, it's in italian but it's self explainatory: http://i.imgur.com/Q49KQhz.png ).

Any idea how to solve this? Thank you.

[EDIT]: this is the output of the "xinput" command (as you see, my touchpad isn't listed):

⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4	[slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3	[master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=6	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Asus Wireless Radio Control id=7	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus id=8	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus id=9	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Sleep Button id=10	[slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ USB Camera id=11	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Asus WMI hotkeys id=12	[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard

But if I run libinput-list-devices the touchpad IS listed:

Thanks, (re)moving /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf solved my problem. Marking the thread as solved smile
