DisplayPort inverted plugging/unplugging event

Hi all,

I am running archlinux on a MacBookPro12.1, kernel 4.5.0-1-ARCH. Using an external monitor connected via the displayport doesn't work.
After trying google, either I don't have the good keywords, either there is no answer to my issue. And the thing is I don't really know where to start digging :s

So, what's happening:
when I plug the display port adapter in with a VGA video-projector connected/switched on, through dmesg I get:

thunderbolt 0000:07:00.0: resetting error on 0:b.
thunderbolt 0000:07:00.0: 0:b: got unplug event for disconnected port, ignoring

And when I unplug it:

thunderbolt 0000:07:00.0: resetting error on 0:b.
thunderbolt 0000:07:00.0: 0:b: hotplug: scanning
thunderbolt 0000:07:00.0: 0:b: hotplug: no switch found

So to my basic understanding, it seems that the plug/unplug event detected by the driver thunderbolt are inverted, right?
Do you have any idea to solve this?

Re: DisplayPort inverted plugging/unplugging event

Hello, I have the same problem... spent a lot of time googling and ended up nothing.

Have you found a fix?

EDIT:

I found a fix.
For anyone still having this problem, see  18. mini DisplayPort to VGA
