Hi,
I'm totally new to Arch. I downloaded the last ISO, installed it on a USB drive and a DVD. In both cases booting is not possible. I made a screen shot to have all error messages available for your help.

Thank you very much in advanced!

Welcome to Arch. Your image is much too large. Please edit your post to use a link or a thumbnail with a link to the full image.

How did you create the USB and DVD? Are you using the Beginners' Guide?

There are a number of posts here with users reporting similar errors using Unetbootin and Brasero.

First, thanks for your quick response!
How can I change the size of the picture? I Used the image tag. So it is actually just a link.
Well as you wrote already I used UNetbootin and Brasero to create the USB and DVD? And I did not use the Beginners' Guide? Now I went through the installation guide and got it running until the automatic root login. So now I have to read the beginners guide.
Coming back soon :-)

If your machine can boot from usb then try booting from usb. In the image you show there are errors when trying to access your cd/dvd drive so it can be a bad burn, a failing drive, bad media or any combination of them.
Refer to the wiki[1] on how to prepare your usb boot media.

I use to have a usb key with grub2 installed on it, and a partition full of .iso. See this https://gist.github.com/agumonkey/9e8f5 … b258144f48
To use another iso, adjust ISO Filename, UUID and LABEL.

Unetbootin doesn't play nice with Arch, because the image looks for a drive label, and Unetbootin doesn't assign one. Instead, open up a terminal use dd. It should look something like:
$ dd if=/path/to/arch.iso of=/path/to/physical/usb/drive bs=4m
There's another utility called dcfldd, which is similar to dd, but includes a nifty little progress bar.

Probably the usb label name is not ARCH_201604
