[Request] Help with building an AUR Package

I recently adopted this AUR package because I needed the software: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ovito/
I only have a very basic understanding of PKGBUILD files, so i just updated to a never version and everything seemed to work fine.
Yesterday I noticed, that nothing works fine but this package breaks all other qt5 apps due to a misplaced qt.conf file. My workaround is to place the downloaded tarball to /opt/ovito . Everything works fine like this. I wuld like to change the PKGBUILD, that this is done automatically and anyone can install it. But as I failed to understand the details of the package() function I did not manage to do this.
Is anyone interested to help? Or there most certainly is a more elegant solution I am not aware of.

Re: [Request] Help with building an AUR Package

Why not start by building it from source rather than downloading and trying to rearrange a bunch of precompiled binaries? That might make it play more nicely with the Arch system libraries.
