Non GTK dialog (Save as, etc.) crashes

Save as... dialog with some apps just crashes when I try to write some new file-name. Weird thing is: I can «delete» (Backspace or Supr) the name, but as soon as I try to type a new one, it simply becomes unresponsive and have to kill it, if it doesn't automatically exit.

It happens ---as I've noticed so far--- with Thunderbird, Gimp, Zim-wiki, Clementine, TexStudio and Sublime. aMule crashes as well with Preferences>Browse>Create New Folder.

It doesn't happen whenever I'm working with other programs such as LibreOffice, Bluefish or Firefox.

Current desktop is gnome-shell 3.20.1. I haven't tested thoroughly under KDE, but it seems to crash under the same array of programs.

I can't find the source of the bug. Any ideas?

Did you try if the issue persists with newly created user/clean configuration? Any errors in journal when this happens?

Same bug with a clean configuration: wayland makes no difference.

It is getting worse: for instance, now texstudio and even the Akonadi Console report Segmentation fault. Chromium won't even start

Journalctl reports

Chromium. Not starting: http://pastebin.com/dYSVj5td
Texstudio. Quits after trying Ctrl+N: http://pastebin.com/p907UwcX
