Win 10
GTX 780
hello!
First, how do I uninstall all graphicsdrivers? So i can start off WITHOUT both nouveau AND nvidia...
Second, As I know it's a graphics issue, is there any issues related to multiple monitors (I have tried to install multimonitor software) direct on first boot of installation? (I have three monitors on the 780 card).
Third, is there any known issues with hyper-v and arch?
Forth, can I retrieve logs from telnet on the host machine? It might help you guys!
I followed wiki for beginners, read under Hyper-V and this tut http://www.linuxveda.com/2014/06/07/arc … -tutorial/ and also searched forums/Google
(Ill edit this post continously as we progress)

Hi, lunkn.
Questions:
1. How much time do you have to solve this problem?
2. Do you know somebody else with the same issue?
3. What is your level of linux understanding?
Default procedure:
Provide more description, to make whole picture of your case!
1. provide your hardware description (for future use, because in principal it's about GTX 780 video unit, yep?)
sudo lshw > lshw.log
lspci > lspci.log
gist lshw.log && gist lspci.log (optional, just quick way to publish logs to gist.github.com, don't forget yaourt -S gist)
2. describe what is your goal (you want to install archlinux, or you want to run particularly your video unit?)
3. Do you use any kind of virtual machine? (what does it mean Hyper-v and Win10?)
4. Checkout ArchLinux Wiki General Recommendations for info and reply your result
5. provide system logs
journalctl -S -2h > system.log
dmesg > dmesg.log
Recommendation:
1. Remove any personal information before pasting any logs to internet, it can be used against you!

Q
1. I would like to had it running last night
2. A couple of threads is made but none of which helped.
3. I'm a beginner with slight basic understanding
P
1. I'm on Windows and running hyper-v (the built in hypervisor of Windows). I am trying to run the lshw command (on the arch machine) but but bash says: unknown command
2. The goal is to install arch (it's installed but X won't start, (Startx))
3. Hyper-v is the built in virtualiser for Windows
4. Been searching the wiki all day (hyper-v, multi monitor, nvidia, nouveau and beginners wiki but it won't help.)
5. How do I get the logs out of the machine? I'll try telnet and will reply soon.
Thank you for the fast reply!

I am familiar with a Virtualbox Machine, can't help with a Hyper-V.
Do you have running archlinux system? Or it is still live cd?
By the way run through this chit sheet and checkout what you don't understand.

Try to use Virtualbox if you want me to guide you!

It's installed, but X won't start because of the display/graphics driver don't "find" any monitors (according to the xorg log)

We need to figure out why you are not able to provide logs from your installed copy of linux.
It's not good to chat on forum. Let's keep in touch via irc, or google hangouts.

Please try the following:
1. reread Xorg section
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Hyper-V
2. reread Graphics Interface section

That is twice now that you have posted a message like that. Please don't.
If you cannot, or will not help -- fine. But do not spam the boards with unhelpful empty posts

The solution were to reinstall everything and CHOOSE MESA as videodriver and/or installing and enable (systemctl enable gdm.service) gdm and gnome
Thank you! //
