Drag n drop qt5 to chrome/chromium

Drag n'drop file from qt5 app (e.g. dolphin) to chrome/chromium doesn't work...
Someone has a workaround or a solution?

There isn't, I've reported the bug about it in relation to wine apps, and we've been able to narrow it down to it being a general qt5 bug - I seem to have missed the last status update asking me to report the bug on the qt5 bugtracker, so it's in limbo atm.

I also noticed the problem.

However, I can't confirm the bug (https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-50372) exactly. Drag & Drop works quite well between Qt 5 and most other non Qt 5 applications. I tested my self-made Qt 5 based password manager and Konversations with Firefox, gedit (GTK 3 based), Geany (GTK 2 based) and TigerVNC (fltk based) and it works fine in both directions. There seem to be only a few exceptions like Chromium (only the direction Qt 5 -> Chromium doesn't work).

Weird. Just tried deadbeef (GTK2) and gimp (GTK3?) and they do work. It definitely doesn't work with WINE apps though, and chromium.

chromium (dev channel) have same problem, when try to D&D from any downloadable link to dolphin, dolphin make a link instead of download the file

Chromium Version 48.0.2564.97 (64-bit)

dolphin -> chromium dropzone: doesn't work
chromium file view -> firefox dropzone: works
firefox file view -> chromium dropzone: works
chromium file view -> chromium dropzone: doesn't work

It's working for me to drag and drop from dolphin to chrome

I don't think it is too old since the issue is still unresolved. The mentioned patch didn't made it into Qt 5.6.0.

I know that it is the Arch way to patch as less as possible, but making an exception here would be an advantage for me and likely other users, too.

Confirmed.
Dolphin -> vivaldi NOT WORK
Dolphin -> opera   NOT WORK
Dolphin -> chromium NOT WORK

This issue has now been fixed/patched in qt5-base-5.6.0-4 and works for me, now. If it also works for you, mark the thread as [SOLVED].

DnD from dolphin to foobar2000 now works again here as well - one long standing bug finally killed.
