Btw I had flickering problems just on the browser (chromium) which I solved keeping the hardware acceleration ON, chrome::/flags on default and running it as 

chromium-browser --disable-gpu-driver-bug-workarounds --enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers

As a sanity check did you check to ensure the module was successfully unloaded prior to reloading?

No, it doesn't work for me either. I'm running awesome on linux 4.5.1-1 on a spudnik dell xps 13 running arch. It works again after a reboot.

I tried `rmmod hid_multitouch && modprobe hid_multitouch`, and `xinput enable "ELAN Touchscreen"` from this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=190751 but neither works for me. Powertop says autosuspend for the touchscreen is off, so I don't think it's that.

So, uh, today I've botched the exchange of my WiFi card. The Broadcom was starting to give me headaches, randomly being recognized as wired ethernet / dropping connections after working perfectly for months, and since I've had the Intel 7265 card in my desk drawer since March, I've figured what the hell.

The antenna connectors (MHF4) are extremely fragile; and the tiny ring that forms the outer part of the card's main antenna connector got stuck inside of its counterpart on disconnecting it. I wouldn't even notice this if it didn't make reconnecting it to the new card impossible. As it stands  I'm operating only on the AUX antenna. The good news is, the WiFi works, and I've seen no issues with regards to signal strength, the bad news is, it's 2.4GHz only. I've ordered a replacement aerial, so I'll hopefully be able to reverse my mistake.

e: a set of dental probes proved quite useful, and the main antenna is connected again. I get 802.11n connection speeds (144Mbps) which, as far as I am aware, require both antennas to be operational, still no 5GHz though.

Thanks mate I'm seriously considering getting an Intel card. I managed to fix it for now using the b43-firmware package.

Is anyone of you guys experiencing random intermittent stops in touchpad response, once the system was suspended and resumed? Once the touchpad 'continues' the cursor jumps wherever your franitc finger movements may have led it ;-)

Screen lockups happen to most of us if you happen to have the i915.enable_psr kernel parameter enabled. I'm not aware of any intermittent touchpad failures; if it does lock up for me, it's locked up for good and I need to reboot.

Finally got my hands on the i5 developer edition.

Running 4.6rc7, i915.enable_rc6=7
fbc and psr disabled, as enabling either/both causes flickering and for whatever reason causes qt applications to lag

other than that, getting acceptable power usage, around 5-7W with backlight 100% on.

So, all in all, quite usable and not many problems.

you could've google'd that but psr is panel self refresh, which saves battery, the panel indicates when a refresh is needed instead of doing it all the time
fbc is frame buffer compression, uses less gpu memory, so less battery
