[Solved] Local APIC Issue SuperMicro X10SDV-F

I just purchased a new SuperMicro X10SDV-F to replace my AsRock C2750-D4I which mysterously died early one morning. Long story short I seem to be missing 15 out of my 16 CPU cores an 30 GB out of my 32 GB in my installed system. Good thing is nothing is wrong with my board, and Arch does support it, because everything works fine in the LiveCD. So this must be a misconfiguration in my installation since the LiveCD works, but I can't figure out how to fix it after a few hours messing with it. I'm thinking this may be an EFI issue because I'm having trouble installing the boot entry via grub-install, I have to do it manually in the firmware setup.

LiveCD dmesg
Installation dmesg (same output using the mainline/stock kernel)

This seems to be the culprit right here

Re: [Solved] Local APIC Issue SuperMicro X10SDV-F

I'd recommend updating to latest BIOS if applicable.

Looks like I had the same issue as this user over at the gentoo forums: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7 … d7ebdbdb39

It has to do with the location of the EFI file. I'm good to go now.
