Hey,
I noticed that the xnet New Zealand mirror (which is unfortunately the only New Zealand mirror) is not updating. If you check here you can see the index file hasn't been updated since the 18th of last month. I thought it was weird that I could go for so long without having any updates ![]()
I filed a bug about this issue (which was hopefully the right thing to do; sorry if it wasn't) but I wanted to post here as well in case there are other confused kiwis wondering why their Arch system has suddenly become extremely low-maintenance.
Sadly not *quite* as fast, at least in my experience, but these two mirrors seem to be reasonable for those in New Zealand:
Server = http://mirror.rackspace.com/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
Server = http://ftp.swin.edu.au/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
Cheers

You want the Auckland Uni one: Server = http://mirror.ece.auckland.ac.nz/archli … o/os/$arch

Perfect, thanks mate! That doesn't seem to be in the official mirrorlist file. But it definitely looks like a winner!

It's not official because it only works in .nz
I have used it for years and it has only flaked out three of four times.

Thanks for the "secret" kiwi mirror guys. I have been missing the xnet New Zealand mirror since it went down

Unfortunately the Auckland University mirror seems very slow/laggy the last couple of days. Good thing the xnet mirror seems up and up to date!

Xnet mirror has gone really stale - no updates for the past few weeks.
And the Auckland University mirror remains slower than it used to be (only getting around 1000k/sec download speeds, used to be 2-3Mbyte/sec).
Oh well. Off to Aussie it is!
