[Solved] Audio balance changes when plugging headphones

Sadly, the title says nearly everything about this problem.
Lowering the volume to 0 fixes the balance, but if I unplug/replug the headphones the problem is still there.

Re: [Solved] Audio balance changes when plugging headphones

I have a similar problem. If I plug/unplug the headphones, the balance shifts almost 100% to the right. I don't know why either. It is annoying.

I was on Linux Kernel 4.5.1 but switched to 4.4.x lts to fix other suspend/resume issues. I've had the problem with both kernels.

Problem seems to be fixed now on linux 4.6.3-1 and Gnome 3.20.3 but IDK if the problem was fixed earlier.

Agreed. Within the last month or so, the problem has stopped happening. So I'm happy. It got worked out without any configuration changes needed.

Re: [Solved] Audio balance changes when plugging headphones

Very strange I would like to know what was the cause of this.
