[SOLVED] Eclipse android plugin not working - No visible effect

I have the latest eclipse-java package installed and the eclipse-android package from the AUR and for some reason Eclipse seems to be ignoring the android plugin.  I simply don't have any buttons or configuration settings to indicate that it's even there.

I've tried uninstalling and recompiling the package, as well as running eclipse -c as root.

At one point, I tried installing the plugin manually by running eclipse as root and using the marketplace/"New Software" options, but both of those just hung up on me.

The fact that no one else seems to be upset by this problem seems to indicate that it's unique to my system but I can't explain how.  Anyone got any ideas?  At this point I'm thinking about reinstalling eclipse.

Edit: I managed to fix the issue by deleting my .eclipse directory and generating a new one.  Still don't completely understand why that works, (I thought eclipse -c was supposed to clear the cached plugin data) but it fixed my problem.
