Run Firefox from a terminal and see if you can see an error message.
What else have you tried to fix this issue, if anything?

starting firefox from the CLI doesn't produce any error messages. Inside Firefox I switched from Flash Video Player to HTML5 Video Player with no effect.

Do you have Adobe flash player (pkgname: flashplugin) installed?

well If I am running pacman it looks like it is not installed. Pacman seaches for the package flashplugin-11.2.202.616-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz but I cann't find this package on verious servers. The only package wich is available is flashplugin-11.2.202.616-2-i686.pkg.tar.xz. I downloaded this package copied it to /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ (because all download servers returned Error 404) and ran pacman again - but this doesn't work. Even if I rename the package to flashplugin-11.2.202.616-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz.

If you get 404s, that means you need to update your system.

well I did an update of the mirrorlist and enabled all servers in Germany and the US - all return
The requested URL returned error: 404

I didn't say update the mirrorlist, I said update your system.

Please post details about your hardware, like the video card, graphics driver, etc.

I checked the flash player options again. After deactivating flash player and switching the youtube video player to HML5 Video Player it seems to be working.
