Please don't post images of text, paste the actual text (in code tags).

It seems to be an issue with your network card: post details of your card and the driver you installed.

Okay, thank you.

I didn't install any drivers. Excluding base system, I installed only xorg, gnome and plasma (and none of this DE works).
As I see in chroot, there is kernel driver in use.

Re: Problems with starting xorg, bluetooth and wifi after installing arch

The problem with DE was solved by replacing graphical driver nvidia-340-xxx-libgl by mesa-libgl.

What did you mean by driver for network card?

The lines in that screenshot starting with bcma & b43-phy inidcate errors with some of your networks cards, possibly a broadcom wireless card.

please post full lspci -k output .

Lone_Wolf, maybe there is a problem with bluetooth? Because it can't find my headphones (so, other devices it can't find too).

Re: Problems with starting xorg, bluetooth and wifi after installing arch

The Broadcom BCM4352 is a combi card that provides wireless network and bluetooth .

Please post full dmesg or journalctl -b (use a pastebin client, check wiki.

Oh, and i recommend editing the thread title (first post) to something less generic.

About editing the title : scroll up to the first post, click edit .
Above the edit post field you should also see an editable textfield with the title.

-------------------

Your laptop uses an intel processor, please setup intel microcodeupdates, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Microcode

------------

the log doesn't show problems with the broadcom wireless, but broadcom bluetooth is missing some stuff .

[ 4.598551] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: chip id 63
[ 4.614570] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM20702A
[ 4.615549] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM20702A1 (001.002.014) build 0000
[ 4.615939] bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load for brcm/BCM20702A1-0489-e07a.hcd failed with error -2
[ 4.615940] Bluetooth: hci0: BCM: Patch brcm/BCM20702A1-0489-e07a.hcd not found

A search for that chipset indicates the kernel has a driver for it, but it needs firmware that's only present in the windows driver.

here is a guide describing how to get the necessary firmware on a lenovo y3 (has same bluetooth chipset).

But I don't see wifi in GNOME's networkmanager menu.

Re: Problems with starting xorg, bluetooth and wifi after installing arch

NetworkManager currently has problems with wireless, see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=210868

You could try a manual setup, or another frontend . check https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wi … figuration

surfatwork, it doesn't work for me.

Lone_Wolf, thank you for helping. Can I add plus to you or something other on this forum? smile

And if I have several more questions, what is better way to ask them: ask here or create a new thread?

I think that the BCM4352 needs the broadcom proprietary driver to work, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Br … roadcom-wl

Thanks, our forum doesn't use any kind of rating system.

Normally ( Forum_etiquette#How_to_post ) it's one question per topic.
I do think it would be better to start a new thread for the wifi issue.
