Hey there,
I am running bumblebee on a Dell XPS 15 9530 which has an intel gpu and a nvidia gpu.
So far I can connect external displays via HDMI / Displayport and they will work just fine. How ever, I have a 144Hz external display that I want to use and from what I know the 144Hz output will only work via the NVIDIA GPU (atleast that is how it is in Windows 7).
Right now, when ever I connect an external display, bumblebee / bbswitch won't active the nvidia GPU.
So my question:
How can I always and automatically output a specific external display via the NVIDIA GPU?
From what I read I would have to install/run a 2nd x-instance (one for the intel gpu and one for the nvidia gpu)? Is that correct and if so, how to do that?
Thanks in advance !
@edit: I am on latest GNOME 3.20 is that matters.

You haven't posted what you've already tried. Have you read the Nvidia Optimus, Bumblebee, and PRIME wikis?
Also on an off-topic, that link in your sig is unnecessary and borderline crass.

Tbh I didn't try much yet as I don't exactly know what to do and where to start.
I read the wiki, I have bumblebee setup and working, but there is nothing about running a specific external screen always via he NVIDIA GPU automatically.
What also worries me: Eventhough the NVIDIA GPU is disabled, I can still select the exernal display in the options to be run wih 144Hz... that shouldn't be possible without the NVIDIA GPU beeing active ?!
