I have arch running in lxc container with Ubuntu 16.04 host.
Before the upgrade arch was running fine with gonme 3.18 and nvidia-355.11
now it is gnome 3.20 an nvidia 364.19 (The Ubuntu host have the same version of cuda and nvidia, otherwise it will not work)
Basically X11
When looking at the Xorg.0.log. I can see that the Displays are possibly not detected.
Any help in debugging this will be appreciated.

To clarify, are you using Ubuntu or Arch?

the lxc is arch and the host is Ubuntu.
In the meantime I was able to fix this issues by allowing cgroup access to the additional nvidia device /dev/nvidia-modeset (this device is new since version 358).
Now I have a new issue. Lightdm starts, but it logs me out before gnome-session starts. I can start gnome session ,xinitrc (using startx). Lightdm fails to start the gnome or mate session. Any ideas how to debug/fix that.
