KDE - Probably missing package

Hi.

I have one little problem with my KDE setup.
The problem is realted to system settings...
(sys. settings -> workspace theme -> desktop theme)

As you can see on this screenshot I can't mix workspace themes:

But on OpenSUSE I can mix themes together (details tab):

Am I missing any package or extension like thing?

No, this has been removed in the latest Plasma release.

So... is there any method for getting this option back? That was really useful thing.

Here is the commit: https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=plasma-desk … 8b2ac6b566

Remove Theme Details KCM
This removes the theme editor thing in the Desktop Theme KCM.
Most settings in there are either broken or useless nowadays.

You could try grabbing the removed code and compiling it against Plasma 5.6, but that's not guaranteed to work.

Re: KDE - Probably missing package

The sad (or hilarious, if you have a warped sense of humor) part about that is the reason for removal - some settings didn't work for the author.
I was using many of those settings and they were working just fine.

Ehh... I would just use some AUR packages or a little bit outdated repo with plasma packages... is there any?

I seen some buggy behavior but that was caused by broken/outdated themes... and I don't think that removing these options fixed anything tongue

I don't think so. You could get the PKGBUILD from ABS and edit it to include a reverse patch, then upload that to AUR wink

It's not the first time the KDE team removes stuff that they think is useless or broken, get complaints from people who were using it just fine and nothing happens. Oh well.

Earlier at the KDE Forums: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=132501

The latest 'Desktop Theme' help page is suggesting Plasma™-sdk package: https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kde-work … index.html

Arch - plasma-sdk: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sor … =&flagged=

Re: KDE - Probably missing package

So, basically, the way now is to build your own theme and then export it?

Re: KDE - Probably missing package

As I can see the reason was mostly in maintaing code of this setting... so... I think it's time for me to move to other DE... I really want somenthing that just works for me instead of somenthing where I need to use very non-practical packages to just customize some elements of theme.
