gdm hangs in loop

Since last update, gdm is not starting any more. I can see the mouse, but it hangs in a loop.

Kernel: 4.4 (lts)

GPU: AMD with Catalyst driver from Vi0l0.

journalctl of gdm with debugging enabled:
http://pastebin.com/AuV0r5tM

Xorg from the xorg117 repository with following line in pacman.conf
[xorg117]
Server = http://catalyst.wirephire.com/repo/xorg117/$arch

/var/log/Xorg.o.log
http://pastebin.com/V22x1yf7

I already tried with and without WaylandEnable=true in /etc/gdm/custom.conf

I can start Xserver with startx.

Re: gdm hangs in loop

This looks similar to my case.

  • Instead of filtering journalctl with unit gdm, can you try filtering on _COMM=gnome-session-binary and see if you get the same "software acceleration disabled" message?

  • If yes, would reverting [clang llvm llvm-libs mesa mesa-libgl mesa-vdpau] to 2016-05-11 versions mentioned in my post fix the issue?
