Spotify recently started to crash after launch. The window comes up, and I can see whatever music I was playing from the spotify on my phone, then the window flashes twice and the software crashes.
I tried installing the most up to date version from the AUR and aur dependencies as well, but nothing changed. As the crashes happen I can see the following on the terminal:
It was working flawlessly previously. I tried this using both xmonad and xfce and the result is the same.

libcurl-compat is the dependency required and is in the aur (for which there was no update since the last time I used spotify). The storage error most likely comes from my phone (where I am currently playing the music).
Any clue?

I have a similar issue, but not the same.

Not sure if related, but:
- My "newest" spotify version kept crashing, whenever a song with "unusual" characters popped up somewhere. After a song with an "ä" in it landed on the main page, it became unusable. Switched to spotify-stable which is not affected by this problem.
- spotify-stable sometimes started crashing or refusing to connect for no apparent reason. Logging out the account (or deleting the config in cases where I couldn't start it at all) got it back running most of the time.

I log in with Facebook and my name has the letter "Ü" in it, that might be my problem as well.

start spotify like this: (yes, really)
spotify --force-device-scale-factor=1.0000001

He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.
