Arduino IDE shows buggy grey windows

Hi, my Arduino IDE looks like this: http://imgur.com/5jHgnoO
All the menus are also bugged out with no text.
The window manager is i3.

I had another program (Maple) do similar weird things with grey windows, and I managed to make it work by swapping the bundled java with my own system java.
If anyone knows if this is possible with the bundled Arduino java please tell me, and which folder to swap?

I have also tried doing the "wmname LG3D" fix, but this does not work.

Re: Arduino IDE shows buggy grey windows

When using OpenJDK, you should be able to do this:

export _JAVA_AWT_WM_NONREPARENTING=1

Re: Arduino IDE shows buggy grey windows

I would also like to report that I also have this problem. I have installed SUN java tried all the solutions on the java page and still have not been able to get it to properly render the Menu Bar. It was working before, but just quit earlier this week March 13. If anyone has a solution, or help it would be appreciated.

Re: Arduino IDE shows buggy grey windows

To be of help to anyone having the same issue, I was using Fluxbox, and the Arduino GUI would not display properly, I switched to Cinnamon, and now I have no problems. I believe it has something to do with how Fluxbox renders its windows, but I cannot solve the problem for Fluxbox.
