The recent update to mesa and mesa-libgl from 11.2.1-1 to 11.2.2-1 breaks MATLAB R2016a graphics.
After the update, MATLAB shows the warning "MATLAB is selecting SOFTWARE OPENGL rendering.", strongly degrading its graphical capabilities.
Forcing MATLAB to use hardware OpenGL rendering does not fix the problem.
Downgrading mesa and mesa-libgl fixes the problem. For the moment, I did not find any workaround with the new mesa version.
Does anybody experience the same problem?

Are you using intel driver like in this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=212566 ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)

Yes, I am.
I did not experience any graphics-related issue other than MATLAB's, but I did not test thoroughly the graphics system before downgrading mesa.

Hi dapolori, just in case you miss my other thread I think you might be able to work around this problem by forcing the use of the Arch C library for exmaple by running,
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 matlab

It works! Thank you for your suggestion.
