Unable to pair Bluetooth mouse Logitech MX Anywhere 2

I just bought a new mouse, a Logitech MX Anywhere 2 because on my Laptop I need to dual-boot between Arch and Windows and this mouse supports up to trhree profiles/devices.

The MX Anywhere 2 mouse is a bluetooth 4 LE device, the Laptop a Dell E7440 (00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I218-LM (rev 04))

Running WIndows there is no problem at all.

Runing Arch (KDE5) the mouse shows as "Type unknown" but "Paired" but the mouse does not work at all.

Version information: bluez-5.39-1

Investigating the things on the console I get the following:

# hciconfig hci0
hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB
BD Address: 0C:8B:FD:EA:A7:67 ACL MTU: 1021:5 SCO MTU: 96:5

        RX bytes:1580 acl:0 sco:0 events:189 errors:0
        TX bytes:29212 acl:0 sco:0 commands:184 errors:0

[bluetooth]# connect C0:D3:2A:76:D3:A1
Attempting to connect to C0:D3:2A:76:D3:A1
Failed to connect: org.bluez.Error.Failed

The kernel shows up this message

Apr 21 12:03:40 E7440 kernel: Bluetooth: HCI request failed to create LE connection: status 0x0c

Seems that this mouse is using any unknown authentication process. It doesn't even ast for a PIN.

Any idea/advice how to go on?

Re: Unable to pair Bluetooth mouse Logitech MX Anywhere 2

Yeah, well, 2020-02-18 it's back after an -Syu.  5.5.4-arch1-1.   In addition to the `Bluetooth: hci0: request failed to create LE connection: status 0x09` errors in the logs, I also see some `debugfs` errors with 'le_min_key_size' and 'le_max_key_size' ("in directory 'hci0' already present!'").  Maybe unrelated, but the LE connections are.  rfkill shows bluetooth is neither soft nor hard blocked.  I just stopped working after an upgrade last night.  I tried downgrading to different versions of both the linux and linux-firmware packages but couldn't stumble on the right combination to get things working.
