How to import old evolution contact address book files into evolution?

Hello!

After trying to just move the old evolution "contact" folders to ~/.local/share/evolution/contacts without any effect I am still trying to get a bunch of old evolution files imported into evolution 3.20.1.

I have a bunch of "contacts.db" files of older versions of evolution from old backup disks - I just want to get the contacts out of there into the evolution-data-server structure... But since evolution has no import functionality for other formats I have no clue of what to do.

Please help, thx, p.

Not sure what version of evo you were using but I Google'd and found this:

I gave up on keeping contacts locally and now store them with my email provider so I have them anywhere. That might not work for you but it does for me.
