Udisks won't detach an External Hard Drive

BEHAVIOUR
After I plugged in an external HDD I can't detach it/power it off/spin it down. Every time I try to do so, it just starts spinning again.
On other distribution this issue does not happen.

LOG
Journalctl log when I try to detach it using Thunar
Journalctl log when I try to detach it using the following command:

udisksctl power-off  /dev/sdb

QUESTIONS
1. Is this behaviour specific to my configuration or is a wide behaviour on Arch Linux.
2. Where does this issue resides?
3. How can I repair it?
